Revel is growing! And it couldn’t come at a better time. There’s a major shift happening in consumer content, and Revel is leading the charge with a fresh new approach. We call it brand editorial.

Rooted in journalism, brand editorial is how a brand conveys its authority, expertise, and unique POV across all communication channels—blogs, newsletters, social media, advertising campaigns, web copy, thought leadership articles, and so on.

When done right, this is how a brand sets itself apart in a crowded space, establishes authentic connections with its customers, and becomes a credible resource.

As former journalists, we’re truth-seekers and disseminators at heart, always prioritizing the reader/customer. It’s thrilling to see that more and more brands are investing in content intended to build trust and authority.

Introducing Elizabeth Goodman Artis

To meet the growing demand for this kind of content, Revel is bringing on our first-ever Brand Editorial Consultant, Elizabeth Goodman Artis.

During her 7-year tenure as the Editor-in-Chief of SHAPE—the second largest women’s lifestyle magazine in the U.S., with a print circulation of 2.6 million—she oversaw a complete reconceptualization and redesign of the brand, which debuted with the May 2018 issue.

Along with her team, the skilled and dynamic content executive built an entirely new editorial product, one that truly reflected modern wellness culture, emphasizing a personal and holistic approach to health, along with a fresh and sophisticated design. That issue saw advertising sales increase by over 20 percent, year-over-year, and was met with a hugely enthusiastic response from both SHAPE readers and the advertising community.

Prior to her position as EIC at SHAPE, the editorial veteran also had a hand in building other great, large-circulation consumer magazine brands, including Prevention, Fitness, Cosmopolitan, and Glamour. Her wealth of experience will be an asset to Revel as we continue to grow, especially during this huge shift in consumer content.

“I’m thrilled to partner with Revel during this transformational time in media to work with brands committed to producing the highest quality content,” Elizabeth says.

The Revel team looks forward to working with Elizabeth to apply our digital strategy experience and editorial expertise to guide brands in content initiatives that effectively attract readers and serve them in a meaningful way. Her perspective will be a valuable resource for our clients as we help them shape their foundational editorial identities and build content programs positioned for success.

Elizabeth will support editorial strategy, content production, team management, and client relations, along with Revel’s founders Cristina Goyanes, Amanda Jedeikin, and Abby Lerner. She started on October 1st and will be based in New York City. If you’re interested in working with Elizabeth, please drop us a line at Hello@thisisrevel.com and we’ll connect you!
